It’s October! We won’t discuss how close Christmas is…I’ll just jump right in to this month’s cute Visiting Teaching idea. 🙂 This month’s message is once again centered around family, and, as always, it is such a wonderful message. I usually awhile narrowing down what I am going to share for my idea, and this month wasn’t any different. At first I was going to share something about the family being the central ‘piece’ of Heavenly Father’s plan (attached to Reese’s Pieces), but then I was talking to my sister and we were discussing how it states several times about the family being the ‘basic unit’. This caught both of our eyes when we read the message, so we decided to use that for this month’s idea. I hope you like it!
At first my sister thought of giving rulers, and then I said, ‘What about cute measuring spoons?’. We both loved the idea! Really, you could us any type of item that has to do with measurements (ruler, measuring cups, etc.). I decided to go with measuring spoons, and found these cute tiny measuring spoons at a local grocery store.
.
The measurements on the spoons say ‘Smidgen,’ ‘Pinch,’ and ‘Dash.’ I have seen some really cute measuring spoons at Michael’s before too. With the weather cooling down, I also thought you could give your sisters a container of Hot Chocolate and a tablespoon.
.
THE FAMILY IS ORDAINED OF GOD
To go along with your spoons or ruler, I created 4 printable quote cards (link below) that have quotes and scriptures from this month’s message.
I printed mine onto brown Kraft cardstock. I love the look of the tags printed on kraft cardstock! I punched a hole at the top of each card, and then tied them to the spoons with some cute red and white twine.

Thank you for sharing your talents with us. I loved this idea! I used the measuring spoons and light brown card stock hand out. I also added a small decorated sugar cookie, in a tan treat bag, tied in with the spoons and tags. I was really happy with the way they turned out.I’m not tech savvy and truly appreciate having something cute and modern to give the sisters I teach. Thanks again for sharing your ideas with us.
