It’s time to say goodbye to another month, and begin again. I’m actually a little bit ok with it because that just means we’re getting closer to Spring. Here in Idaho we still are covered in snow, and I mean covered! Last week I started thinking about this month’s Visiting Teaching message, and what I could share. I thought of the word ‘Power’ and thought of using Powerade, but I already shared that before (you can see that idea HERE). I then got a little sidetracked with St. Patrick’s day and chocolate, haha. After thinking about the idea for a little bit, I decided it would be great for my March 2017 Visiting Teaching Idea.
I love the March 2017 Visiting Teaching message, and it even includes one of my favorite scriptures, Ether 12:27. But this month I decided to go with a St. Patrick’s day theme, and incorporate some delicious gold candy.
We all need to be reminded of who we are and how special each of us are, so I went decided to focus this month’s idea around the phrase:
“You are more precious than gold!”
Whenever we read or study about Jesus Christ’s Atonement, we should be reminded of our worth. Our Savior loves us so much that he came to earth to die for us. He has felt our pains and our suffering, and through the enabling power of Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice our weaknesses can be made strong, and our trials can be made light.
Would the sisters you Visit Teach enjoy their very own jar of ‘gold’ and a little reminder to help them know who they are and just how amazing and special they are? Here is what you’ll need, and I am sharing some great printables to make your job even easier!
March 2017 Visiting Teaching Idea
For my treats, I chose to put them in a small wide-mouth jar. Since I chose to use a jar, I created a jar topper to go with it. You can find the printable at the bottom of this post, and since not everyone will use wide-mouth jars, I included jar toppers for both wide-mouth and normal jars.
Next, you need some ‘gold’ to fill your jar. I went to the grocery store and found some gold wrapped chocolates that would be perfect. You could also use gold chocolate coins or find some other item that is gold.
I then created 3 small tags to tie to my jar. The first one has the phrase, “You are more precious than gold!”. The next one has a scripture from the message and the third tag is the ‘Consider This’ question. All you have to do is print and cut and then attach them to your jar or item of your choice. I had some green and white twine that I used to attach my tags, but you could use any type of green or gold ribbon.
Teacher or YW Gift Idea
Wouldn’t these make cute teacher gifts as well? Just use the Jar Topper tag and the ‘More precious than gold’ tags to attach to your jar of gold for the perfect teacher gift.
You could even give them to the YW in your Ward, and encourage them to pass of a Knowledge Personal Progress requirement.
I hope you enjoy my March 2017 Visiting Teaching Idea, and are able to use it this month. I would love to hear if you do, so leave me a comment. Or snap a picture and share it with me on Instagram.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
