Can you believe it’s March already!?! I love this time of year, so I really don’t mind that this year seems to be going fast. 🙂 With a new month here, that means a new Visiting Teaching Message! When I read the March Visiting Teaching message, Created in the Image of God, I immediately thought of a mirror. So often we feel inadequate about ourselves. The March Visiting Teaching message was such a great reminder of WHO we really are. Here is my idea for Visiting Teaching this month. Enjoy!
After I knew what I was doing I got my hands on a cute mirror. My sweet Mother-in-law picked one up for me at Dollar Tree (pictured above) for $1! I have also seen some cute compact mirrors at Michael’s and the dollar spot at Target.
I then got to work creating some tags to include with the mirror. I thought it would be cute to have the quote attached onto the mirror. And I thought the quote was perfect for the mirror:
“God our Father has ears with which to hear our prayers. He has eyes with which to see our actions. He has a mouth with which to speak to us. He has a heart with which to feel compassion and love. He is real. He is living. We are his children made in his image. We look like him and he looks like us.” (President Thomas S. Monson)
I LOVE that quote! If you happen to pick up smaller mirror you could just punch a hole and have it be a tag.
.
I like to include as much as the message as possible, so decided to create 2 more tags to tie to the handle of the mirror. One of the tags has another great quote from this month’s message, and the other tag has the ‘Consider This’ question.
I always love the ‘Consider This’ question at the end of each month’s message. It helps me think about the message and how to apply the message to my life. It would also make a great journal prompt…something I need to get back in the habit of doing. 🙂
