Jesus Christ Topical Guide Study

Hey everyone, Natalie here from the Little LDS Ideas Creative Team. Today I’m sharing some printables to simplify and organize your personal “Jesus Christ Topical Guide Study“.

In April of 2017, President Russell M. Nelson gave an inspiring talk entitled Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into Our Lives. In it he gives several ideas of how we can actively bring the power of our Savior into our daily lives. One of these ideas is to read and underline every verse cited about Jesus Christ in the Topical Guide. President Nelson expressed that after he exercised this challenge, he found himself a “changed man”. I know that if we have a desire to truly know our Savior we need to study His words, life, and example. As we do, we too will change for the better.

The Come, Follow Me curriculum has certainly helped me feel closer to Christ. Having guided questions and discussion topics is helpful in successful family study. However, I know I can do more to reach out to Him. I can specifically search for Him throughout the scriptures.

Jesus Christ Topical Guide Study

The Topical Guide lists different topics found in the scriptures and provides references that teach about that topic. There is a main heading about Jesus Christ, but there are also 57 subtitles to His name. This can seem seriously overwhelming.

To help us all with this powerful challenge, I sat down and made study sheets for the main heading and every subtitle. So now if you want to focus on Jesus Christ’s Mission, His Resurrection, or Prophecies about Him you can print out that single page and use it to guide your study. As you read and underline each listed scripture you can color in your study sheet to remind you what you’ve read. If you’re feeling especially motivated to follow the Prophet’s example, you could print out the entire set of study sheets (I would recommend printing them back to back). I also included a “notes” page if you want to keep track of your thoughts/impressions/questions/answers along with your study sheets.

Sheena shared another idea of how to study the life of Jesus Christ to help bring His influence into your life. 12 Weeks To A More Personal Relationship With Jesus Christ: LDS Scripture Study Challenge. I love her idea as well, check it out!

I am so grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ and know that learning about Him will bring His power and influence into our lives. If you embark on this course of study, please tag me (@hardmanhome) or @seek.christ.daily. We want to hear your experiences as you actively seek our Savior.

Thanks for stopping by!

I am just a week away from finishing reading and marking every verse listed u set all the headings of “Jesus Christ” in the Topical Guide. It has, indeed, been life-changing. Id like to know how many thousands of verses there are. Rather than counting them up, I’ve been looking online for someone who might already know. I’ve just found your wonderful scripture sheets for this exercise and wondered if you know how many verses there are in all. Thanks for your help!

I’m hoping your system for studying the Lord’s life and ministry will be simple enough for a senior like me to to meet Pres. Nelson’s 2200 verse challenge! Thanks for your faith, initiative, and time for providing this study help!
