I used the Primary President and the 1st counselor to help me with my Feast/nibble demonstration, which the children LOVED.
Then on a dry erase board I had a little sign that said ‘We are to feast upon the words of Christ’ and below that I had a picture of a girl reading the scriptures (it came from the Gospel Art Kit). Then on either side of the sign/picture I had 8 cupcake pictures numbered 1-8.
On the back of each cupcake I had the action word and scripture reference (from the outline) and some questions. I chose a child to come to the front and pick a cupcake, then I asked them the question on the back. The Jr. Primary wasn’t too excited about acting out the clue, so you might just read the scripture to them and then ask the child what he/she thinks it means or you could have all of those a ‘teacher play’. Have the child pick a teacher to act it out or draw it out.
At the end of the lesson I encouraged them to ‘feast upon the words of Christ’ and I told them I had a very special treat for them. I told them that I made each of them a mini cupcake and on each cupcake were some RED sprinkles. The RED sprinkles were to help them to remember to Read Every Day. I asked them to think about reading the scriptures as they ate their cupcake.
Then I gave them one of my Scrumptious Scripture Charts (link at the bottom of this post).
I actually didn’t even have time to do this for Sr. Primary, but I was able to squeeze in the feast/nibble demonstration. The older children could not believe that they were eating cupcakes right in front of them and not sharing. haha
They were very excited to find out that they were going to get one as well.
So there you go, an updated version of my 2nd week Sharing Time idea. Hope it can help some of you out.
Have a great day!!

So, last night I was looking through some lesson idea books that my Mom gave me over Christmas, when I saw this really neat idea. I read it and thought ‘Oh, that sounds like fun’. But of course it didn’t stop there. I began thinking of how I could use that for my Sharing time.

i was having the same trouble you were with sharing time this morning. Thanks to you for your awesome idea and an answer to prayers.
LOVE your ideas. Was wondering when you usually post your ideas for the next week? For exmaple…looking for some ideas (brainstorming) for the 3rd week in January. I usually like to find some ideas at the beginning of the week and then think about ideas I’ve seen and my own ideas and then put it all together throughout the week for that Sunday coming up.
Does that make sense? Anyway, thanks for doing this site. It’s amazing!
J&JWebbfamily: Thanks for the comment. Sorry I didn’t respond to your question, I just saw it today. I didn’t add very many questions, and they were pretty easy. If you still need them, just let me know and I can email them to you. Thanks!
Robyn: Thanks so much for your comment. It turned out great and the children loved it, well they probably loved the cupcakes. 🙂
Erica: I usually try to post my idea Friday (the week before) but I’ve been a little behind. I’m going to try to post it,hopefully, tomorrow.
I’m the same way, I like to have an idea of what I’m doing and then think about it during the week. Sorry to keep you waiting. I have an idea in my head, I just need to sit down and think about it and finish it. 🙂 I’ll try really hard to post it tomorrow. Thanks!
