1st Week Sharing Time Idea for May

Here is my Sharing Time idea for the 1st week in May. I began with a totally different idea, but I just didn’t love it, so I called my Mom one day and was talking with her. We started talking about my blog, and so I shared my idea with her. She thought it was a good idea, but she said, “When I think of strengthening, I think of lifting weights.” Oh yea!! Why didn’t I think of that? I was stuck on Faith growing like a seed, and that’s the only thing I could think of. But thanks to my wonderful and creative Mother, I came up with this idea. It’s simple, but I think it will be alot of fun! I hope you enjoy!
Oh, and if you do this idea for your Sharing Time, I would love to see some pictures of your weights…if you want to share!
Oh, one more thing, if you want to make a handout I thought this would be so cute. You could type up the fourth Article of Faith on small pieces of paper. Then, using candy, make little weights for the children to take home. You could wrap them in some kind of cellophane wrap and attach the Article of Faith. You could us the long, skinny Laffy Taffy, or Twizzlers for the weight bar. And Gummy Lifesavers for the weights. The children would love this!

It will really resonate with my boys who are into weightlifting, and of course all the other children will learn from it too. You are amazing at being so prepared in advance. WOW! Isn’t the first Sunday fast Sunday? Maybe it’s not the best idea to be giving the kids candy.

Thank you so much for sharing with us. The children loved “Wimpy Wayne” and how to build their faith.

  17. I used this lesson on Sunday and the kids absolutely loved it! I always get stressed and nervous to teach kids and when I found your blog I was grateful! My husband was Whimpy Wayne and the children had such a great time with weights and all. I used a broom stick for the bar and then cut small holes in paper plateds and they slid right on pretty well! Thanks again! I using the Repentance lesson too! Good job!

  18. This was just perfect for my primary sharing time last week! My husband, an actor, came in and acted the part of Whimpy Wayne, and the children were hooked. They were hooked through the entire lesson, which is a great accomplishment for us. Thank you, thank you! Your blog is a true find. 🙂
