{Primary} 2016 LDS Primary Program Cover and Invites

September is right around the corner, which means many of you are preparing for your annual LDS Children’s Primary Program. I love that one Sunday of the year that we get to listen to the children sing and speak about what they learned throughout the year. There is such a special spirit during the Sacrament Meeting program. Last year I shared a program cover and some invites that many of you used. Today I finished up this year’s Primary Program Cover and Invites. I hope you like them!

I have 3 printables for you today! I have my ‘Save the Date’ cards, Primary Program Invitation, and a Primary Program Cover. I have created a fun ‘color’ version AND a black and white version. Just look for the links to download. πŸ™‚

Primary Program ‘Save the Date’ Cards

Each Ward usually passes out Primary Program parts a few weeks in advance. Last year I shared some ‘Save the Date’ Primary Program cardsΒ that I thought would be cute to pass out along with their speaking parts. Here is a peek at this year’s ‘Save the Date’ Card.

I love the colors and the fun font. All you have to do is add your date, and you’re good to go! Re-size them and fit as many as you can to a sheet, and then print and cut!

I love the idea of letting the parents know when the program will be so that they can mark it on their calendars, and it’s always fun to do that with a cute handout. πŸ™‚

To use my ‘Save the Date’ cards, just right click on the picture below and ‘Save’ the image. Then open it in Microsoft Word, Paint, Photoshop, etc. Add a text box with the appropriate date, then re-size and copy and paste until you have a full sheet of cards. Then print!

I also have a full sheet of cards (4 per sheet) that you can download and add your date to. You can download my sheet of cards HERE!

Primary Program Invitation

Some people like Primary Program Invitations so the children can invite neighbors, teachers, or friends to the program. I LOVE the idea! And what amazingΒ little missionaries these children are. πŸ™‚ Here is a look at what my invitations look like:

The invite that you will download will be blank, so just fill in the appropriate information, and then print them. The invitations are 4″ X 6″. You can print them at home or have them printed at Costco, Walgreens, or any other printing place.

To add your text, you will do the same thing as above. Just click on the image below and save. Then open it in any editing program and add your information using text boxes. πŸ™‚

Once you have it all done, save it and print or send it to your favorite printing place.

Primary Program Cover

Last, but not least, we have my 2016 Primary Program Cover. Since this year’s theme is about scriptures, and many of you have been focusing on ‘Scripture Heroes’, I thought it would be fun to ask the children what their favorite scripture, scripture story, or scripture hero is. I thought it would be really fun to incorporate their answers into the program covers. πŸ™‚ Here is an example:

The children’s answers will go on the back of the cover. This would be great for large primaries that aren’t able to give every child a speaking part in the program.Β Or you could Β create several different program covers, so that every child gets to have their favorite on the cover. Let’s say you have 32 children…you could create 4 different program covers so that each child gets to have their answer on one. Then just make a certain number of copies of each one so that you have enough for Sacrament Meeting. πŸ™‚

Just right click and save the image below to save to your computer. Then add the appropriate information. Or you can DOWNLOAD, HERE.

For those of you wondering what fonts I used, here you go:

KG Happy Font

The font that I used on my ‘Save the Date’ card is calledΒ Freddy Regular, but I purchased it as a pack, and I can’t remember exactly where it came from. πŸ™‚ But you could try using:

DK Lemon Yellow Sun

For my quote bubbles, I just used simple fonts that were easy to read:

Mathlete Bulky

Bebas Neue

Nixie One

And the cute book image that I used for my printables came from THIS Etsy shop!

Last year I helped many people out by adding in the information for them for free. Unfortunately I will not be able to do that this year. If youΒ would like help editing your Save the Date cards, Invites, or Program Covers OR if you would like me to make an alteration, you can contact me through my Etsy Shop, HERE.

I also have some great tutorials to help you out HEREΒ (Microsoft Word), HERE (using Canva) , and HERE (on a Mac)!

I hope you enjoy my 2016 LDS Primary Program Invites and Program Covers! I would love to hear if you use them, so leave me a comment. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.

  2. Jeannine

The Download button does not seemed to be linked to anything. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks so much for providing these!

    1. Hi Jeannine,
The ‘DOWNLOAD’ is actually just the title. πŸ™‚ To download the image, just right click and Save to your computer.

  3. AJ

Would you mind sharing the fonts that you used? On your example invitaton?

    1. AJ

  6. Katie Walker

These are super cute! I plan on using save the date cards and the sacrament program cover, so thank you! Do you plan on posting a program outline like the one you did last year? I really like how you organized the program for 2015 and would love to see what you have planned for 2016.

    1. Thanks Katie. I’m so glad you like my Save the Date cards and covers. I have actually been released from my Primary Presidency calling, so I won’t be writing the Program outline for our ward, but I just remembered that my sister emailed me her outline. I will take a look at it and try to get it posted. πŸ™‚ Sorry I’m not more help.

      1. Katie Walker

Oh that would be great! It’s always helpful to see other ideas. Thanks!

  7. Steve

do you have higher resolution versions of these or PDFs available? The blank theme cover for instance in only 3.41×2.64″ at 300 dpi, so when I make it a full page size, it’s only 93 dpi, which doesn’t look very good when printed.

  8. Steve

I found the PDF on dropbox download link. Sorry I missed it before. Thanks so much!

    1. Steve

… I mean large JPG download. Either way, much nicer for printing. Thank you!

      1. Thanks Steve! I was just about to email you. πŸ™‚ Let me know if you have any other questions or problems.

  9. Sara

Thank you so much, these are darling and will be perfect β™₯ I was able to download, edit and share with our presidency β™₯ you are so talented!

    1. Thanks for letting me know, Sara! I want to make it easy, but it doesn’t always happen that way. I’m so glad you were able to get yours downloaded and edited. πŸ™‚ Thanks!

    1. Thank you, Kimberly! I’m glad to hear that you liked them and were able to use them. ?

  13. Suzanne

    HI Sheena,

I typically don’t ever have a problem downloading things from you, but I’m having trouble with the color invite. I click the image and nothing happens. I usually can do this without a problem so I’m not sure why this time its not working. Any chance you can email me a copy of the edit-able colored invite?

      1. Jaime

I want to thank you for sharing your blog and all your hard work and talent! I love your ideas and printables! I will be using these for our primary program here in Nebraska. As was mentioned in a previous comment, I am having trouble downloading the color invite. Would you also email me a copy of the colored editable files? Thank you, thank you for your help!

        1. Hi Jaime! Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I am so happy to hear that you have enjoyed the ideas and printables that I share. I’m so sorry I didn’t respond sooner. I thought I emailed the file to you, but I’m not 100% sure I did, so sorry if I didn’t. If you have had your program, I hope it went well. πŸ™‚

  14. Danna

Hi! First off, these are darling! Thank you so much for making these and sharing them! I am trying to download the invitations one, but when I click on download it doesn’t do anything and when I save the image it isn’t blank. Would you mind helping me out? Sorry for the inconvenience! I’m sure it’s a simple fix that I am missing!

    1. Thank you, Danna! I’m so glad you like the invites. I just sent you an email with the file. πŸ™‚ Let me know if you have any other questions or problems.

  15. Kindra

These are so cute! This is a great way to keep parents informed. The link isn’t working for the 4×6 invitation. Is it possible for you to email this to me?

    1. Thanks Kindra! I’m so glad you like the invites. I just sent you an email with the file. πŸ™‚

  16. Susie

These are wonderful, and just what I was looking for! Thank you so much! I was not successful in downloading the 4×6 invitation. Would you please email it to me?

  17. Tierra wharemate

Thank you so much for these great invites!
I started to make my own & let’s just say I’ll be using yours!!! Thanks

    1. Haha…Thanks, Tierra. I love when I can find things online. It’s fun to create, but sometimes it is so nice to just search and find something. It saves so much time. Glad you like my printables. πŸ™‚

  18. Amanda Clark

I have been trying to save the primary program invitation to my computer so that I can edit it and use it, but I can’t get it to work… I right clicked it and saved it to my computer, but it’s only saving it as an image. I love how you did it so much I would absolutely love it if I could use it. If you could help that would be great! Thank you so much! You are so amazing to be so willing to share your ideas and creativity!

    1. Hi Amanda! I don’t have a program to make editable files, so the only way I know how to share these is to save them as JPEG files, and then you add text boxes over the image. I shared 3 tutorials to explain how to edit it. If you’re still having problems just send me an email (littleldsideas@hotmail.com). πŸ™‚

  19. Amy Smith

Love these! Thanks for sharing your incredible talent! I am having a hard time getting the invitation to download. Is there a link I am missing?

    1. Hi Amy! The files are JPEG’s, so all you have to do is right click on the image you want and ‘save as’. There are links for some of the files as well. If you still have problems just send me an email (littleldsideas@hotmail) and I can send over a file.

  20. Jennilyn McKenna

These are so cute! Is there any chance I could get an edit-able file of the colored invitation? Thanks so much!

    1. Hi Jennilyn. I’m sorry I never got these to you. I hope your Program went well. If you ever have problems downloading something just send me an email: littleldsideas(at)hotmail(dot)com. I usually check that more often than my comments. Once again, so sorry that I wasn’t able to get this to you. πŸ™‚

  21. Chandra

I love your invites! Would you mind emailing me the file as well so that I can edit it. Thanks so much!

  22. Casey

We used your invite and program cover with scripture quotes for our program. I loved them! I loved the quote boxes for the children to include their favorite scripture, scripture hero, or story. It was fun to hear what they liked. We were able to include all the primary on the back of the program by your suggestion of doing more that one version. With 48 primary children, we had 6 versions. It made the program extra special. Thank you for sharing!!!

    1. Thank you for letting me know that you used the printables, and that they turned out! I am so happy to hear that they did. πŸ™‚

  23. Jen Schneiter

Hi Sheena! I always love your creative ideas. I’d love to use the color invitation, and am unfortunately having a hard time downloading it. Would you email me the file??

    1. Hi Jen! I am so sorry I didn’t respond or email you sooner. I have been really busy lately, and haven’t spent much time checking my comments…so I’m taking time right now to catch up on all the one’s I have missed. If you still have time, and need the invite, just let me know (littleldsideas[at]hotmail[dot]com), and I can send it over. πŸ™‚

  24. Ashley

I love your stuff! I’m trying to save the color invitation. When I right click and save, it still shows your watermark under the dots…am I doing something wrong? Can you email me the file without the watermark?

    1. Ashley

oops now I see i’m supposed to save the next one down and add all my own text! sorry

      1. Sorry about that, Ashley. Glad you got it figured out. Let me know if you need anything else. πŸ™‚

  25. Melissa

Thank you so much for sharing these! We had planned to make our own using some of our children’s own hand writing and drawing of the scriptures, but life hit (including a sister suddenly going into labor with her husband out of town), and our plans went astray. I was so, so happy to find your great covers! I loved the ideas of the invites and (especially) putting the children’s favorite scriptures on the back and hope to use them in the future. Thanks again!

    1. Thank you for your comment, Melissa! I totally understand life getting crazy. I am currently in school, and spend all of my time studying. I’m so happy to hear that you like my invites and program. Thanks again for taking the time to comment. πŸ™‚

  26. Emmy

I’m trying to download your color invite (so cute!) but I cannot figure out how to do it. I have read other people’s comments as well and I still can’t get it actually downloaded, not just image with watermark saved. Is there some extra download link I am not seeing? Or could you email me the one to edit?

    1. Hi Emmy. I am so sorry I never replied to your comment or emailed the invite. Life has been a little crazy, and I haven’t had a lot of time to check comments on my blog. If you still have time to use it, let me know (littleldsideas[at]hotmail[dot]com) and I can send it over. Once again, sorry I didn’t respond sooner. πŸ™‚

  27. Olivia
