I decided to change it up a little bit so that it fit the topic a little better:
“I’ll speak in the kindest words to those around me every day!”

September Come Follow Me Handout Idea: Chapstick Poem
Are you teaching a lesson on speaking kindly to others? Looking for a great handout to go along with your lesson? This chapstick poem handout is perfect! Here is what you’ll need!
.

.
You Will Need:
• Chapstick
• Chapstick Poem Printable
•Quote Tag (optional)
• Tape or Sticky Dots (found at any craft store)
• Scissors/Cutter
First, you will need to get your chapstick. Once you’ve got your chapstick, go ahead and print out my ‘chapstick poem’ printable (link below). I would suggest printing the handout onto cardstock.
Now…cut them out. Once you’ve got all that done, you can start putting your handout together! To do this, I just rolled pieces of tape, and then stuck the tube of chapstick on. Sticky Glue dots also work very well.
.

.
I decided to include a cute little quote tag with my updated printable. The quote I included is a quote from Jeffrey R Holland:
“Our words, like our deeds, should be filled with faith and hope and charity.”
You can choose to attach the quote tag right onto the tube of chapstick with some cute washi tape OR you can place it behind the chapstick when attaching the chapstick to the card.

I also used some of THESE great handouts from Courtney Aitken.
I hope you enjoy my September Come Follow Me Handout Idea. Would the YW in your ward enjoy this chapstick handout? I hope they do, and if you use them, I’d love to hear how it goes.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Hi! I’m Sheena, the blogger behind Little LDS Ideas. I love sharing LDS Ideas and printables to help make your life and calling a little bit easier. I am a mother to 4 and a wife to one amazing guy. In addition to being busy with blogging and being a wife/mother, I am also in school. Studying and homework keeps me busy, but I love it. Thanks so much for stopping by! ♥

This is a fantastic idea! I’m the president of the laurel class in my ward, so I come up with a majority of the ideas for our young women and I think this is awesome! I know a lot of the girls in my class use chapstick since it’s dry here so maybe I’ll do this soon to put a little spiritual spin on something common and everyday. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Chysalis!
could you email me the pdf file so I can copy this cute hand out.
Thanks Jen! Email sent. 🙂
Can I have pdf file as well please jtbell320@gmail.com Thank you so much
Just emailed it over. 🙂
What a great idea, love all of what you offer. Thank You so much! Becky Holland
I love this!
Thanks so much for the cute handout. I’m using it tomorrow. 🙂
Thanks, Emily! Glad you liked it, and were able to use it for your lesson. 🙂
I love this handout and I found the perfect chap stick to go with it! Thank you so much for putting this together!
Thanks for sharing this poem! I am going to sew keyring chapstick holders I found on Pinterest and attach this poem to it and give it to my 5th/6th grade Awana girls for Christmas!!
Sheena, I am sorry to bug you about this, but I cannot for the life of me locate the link for the chapstick sticker graphic. I am only able to find the poem/handout. What am I missing? This is such a great way to deliver an important message. Thank you for sharing!
Hi Erika,
I’m not sure what sticker graphic you are looking for. The only printables for this post is the poem and then the little tag. I did do a Visiting Teaching chapstick message that included a chapstick label. Here is the link: https://littleldsideas.net/relief-society/august-2016-vt-message/visiting-teaching-august-2016-nurturing-families-together/
Hope this helps. 🙂
That’s the one I was seeing on Pinterest! Thank you so much!!
Yay! All of my images on that post weren’t working, so that’s probably why you couldn’t find it. I updated everything so you should be able to find the right download. 🙂 Glad I could help.
This is perfect for my Mom’s group at church! Thanks so much!!
Thanks! Glad you like the printable. 🙂

trying to think of an eye opener to assist with my lesson on how do I guard my virtue? Do you have any last minute ideas?
Hi Melanie! I know you already had your lesson, sorry I didn’t have any ideas to share. 🙁
Hello,
I’m teaching this lesson to our Laurel class this coming Sunday. Would you be able to email me the poem and the cute little tag for the chapstick? Thank you so much!
Susan Pass
Hi Susan! You should be able to click the link to download/print. Is it not working? I’ll email it over as soon as I get back to my computer. 😊
Why did you feel the need to change the last line and leave out prayer?
I decided to change the last line so that it went with the theme “Do the words I say affect those around me”.
I’d love to print this awesome handout for trek. Would you please email me the pdf?

Thank you in advance 😊
