The last couple of years I have shared a Goal Booklet (you can find last year’s HERE), but this year I am changing things up. I usually gear my goal booklets to Relief Society women, but this year I made it with the Young Women in mind. I hope you enjoy my LDS Young Women 2018 Goal Planner Booklet.
I’m sure some of you are thinking…but I’m not in Young Women, no worries! If you aren’t in Young Women, you can totally still download and use it. I am planning on doing it, and the YW Presidency in our ward is actually going to have a friendly little competition with our girls (Leaders VS. Girls).
LDS Young Women 2018 Goal Planner Booklet
This year the YW presidency in my ward are using the binder covers from My Own Brand of Happy (aka Prickly Pear Design Co.), found here, so I decided to use similar colors and cute polka dot paper to have a similar look for the goal planner. It’s a simple cover, but I like how it turned out.
Inside you will find an intro page, and then a page for each month that lists 14 different goals to choose from. The goals include Spiritual Goals, Every Day Goals, and Personal Goals (blank). I included goals to help them focus on this year’s Youth theme throughout the year as well as other great spiritual goals that will help them come closer to Jesus Christ and gain a stronger testimony.
The Every Day goals include some fun goals as well as goals to help them learn and grow. I actually had to ask some of you for ideas for my Every Day Goals section, Thank You! I loved the ideas that were shared.
Here’s a peek inside the booklet to give you an idea of what you will find in the booklet (and I have fixed the monthly pages to ‘2018’ instead of ‘2017’, oops.
At the top of each page you will also see a quote about goals from General Authorities. I included these to help keep the girls motivated and to help them learn how important goals are.
How to Create a 2018 Goal Planner Booklet
To create your very own 2018 Goal Planner Booklet, just click the link below to download. I didn’t like the first few that I tested out, so I went back and changed things up. At first I had each month as it’s own page and then printed it as a booklet in Adobe Acrobat. Although this was super easy, I didn’t like how small it made it and the large margins. So I went back and decided to place two months per page to create a booklet on my own. I am including both files for you to download (the large 8.5″ X 11″ and the small booklet size).
First let’s talk about printing my 2018 Goal Planner as a booklet. At the bottom of this post you will see two links, click on the booklet link and you will be taken to another page where you can print and/or download to your computer. There are 8 pages total that you will be printing front and back. When I printed these earlier it didn’t give me the option to print double sided, so I first printed all the even numbered pages. I then re-loaded the paper and printed the odd number pages on the back. Every printer is different, so you might want to test it out first before printing 20 copies. 🙂 Pay attention to how your paper is fed into your printer, once you have that figured out it’s easy peasy.
For our 2018 Goal Planner Booklets I wanted to have a heavier cover, I thought it would help them last longer. To do this I printed page 1 and 2 onto one sheet of cardstock; I printed page one first, then stuck it back in my printer and printed page 2. Then I printed the remaining pages onto normal paper.
As I said, I am also sharing my full sheet LDS YW 2018 Goal Planner Booklets if you don’t want to deal with putting together a booklet. For those, just click on the link and then print.
How To Use my LDS YW 2018 Goal Planner Booklet
I know if I were to just hand these booklets out to the YW and do nothing else, nothing would be done. The booklets would end up lost in their room, haha. I decided to check in with them at the end of every month and reward them for their hard work. Here is what we plan to do. I asked the girls to pass off at least 6 goals each month. They could complete 2 from each category or 3 from Spiritual and 3 from Every Day if they don’t have any Personal Goals written down (I need to let them know that I would like them to do some from each category). I also asked them to bring their booklets to church on the last Sunday of each month. If they do, and they have passed off at least 6 goals, they will choose a prize from my Goal Prize Basket.
My basket will be filled with small prizes/treats for the girls to enjoy. I have thought about having candy (of course), these cute YW Value Hair Ties, Pens/Pencils, notepads, nail polish, etc. I am planning on visiting the dollar section at Target soon. 😉
The girls, and leaders, seem very excited about their 2018 Goal Planner Booklets. We only had 4 girls show up to mutual this week, so I will be passing out the remaining booklets to the rest of the YW this Sunday. I hope that they use these books to make some important goals in their lives, and I know as they do the things in this book that they will come closer to Jesus Christ and gain a stronger testimony of His gospel.

I hope that you enjoy my LDS YW 2018 Goal Planner Booklet and use it this year to help you and the YW come closer to Jesus Christ. I would love to hear if you do, so be sure to stop by and leave me a comment.
Oh…I am also thinking of creating a Primary version as well. I have been thinking of ideas for my own children to help them, and as I was creating this booklet I realized that something like this would be perfect for them too! So keep an eye out.
Thank so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
