22 Weeks of General Conference: LDS Study Guide

Just a few weeks ago we had the opportunity to listen to amazing talks from the leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I always enjoy Conference weekend, it is something that I look forward to. Although I enjoy conference, I don’t always get to listen to the talks as much or as closely as I would like (I’m sure many of you can understand). Because of this, I really enjoy being able to read/listen to the talks after General Conference is over. For several years now I have created an LDS General Conference Study Guide to help you (and me) study the General Conference talks. Today I am finally sharing an updated version for the October 2017 talks.

LDS General Conference Study Guide

I like to call this LDS General Conference Study Guide: 22 Weeks of General Conference. There are approximately 22 weeks until the April 2017 General Conference, and we have been asked to study the General Conference talks until we hear from our beloved leaders again.

Back in 2013, I decided that studying them by topic might be a great way to do this, so I created a printable to help me do just that. So many people enjoyed my 22 Weeks of General Conference, so I have kept it a tradition and have created a new sheet for each General Conference.

Let’s talk about the different options that you can choose from. Each printable includes topics to choose from as well as 22 weeks. My Monthly printable includes each month with the number of weeks for that particular month (pictured above). Starting in November, choose a topic and write it in the “November Week 1” spot. For that entire week, read the talks within the topic you chose. Since there are only 19 topics, you will need to split a few topics into 2 weeks.

I also included a blank Monthly printable. This looks like the printable above but instead of having the months labeled, they are blank. This helps people who may start during a different month than what I have labeled.

My last printable is a weekly study guide (above). This sheet still includes 22 weeks, but it doesn’t break into months. You just start at week 1 and go until you reach week 22! Just like with the previous two sheets, choose a topic and write it in the week that you’re on. Once the week is over, choose a new topic and write it in the next space.

I like to choose a specific day of the week to pick a new topic. I usually decide that Sunday is the best day to do this for me because there isn’t so much going on, but you might choose a Monday or another day of the week. No matter what day you decide on, just find what works best for you, and then stick with it.

So, what do you think? Are you ready to study the General Conference talks over the next 22 weeks? You can print out my printable using the link below. I have included all of my printables into one file. You will find the 3 different options I talked about as well as two different styles (polka dot and a simple/plain style).

I just came across your blog about a week ago and printed one of these off–such a great idea!! I realized tonight that I couldn’t find one of the talks given on your outline. It looks like “The Voice if the Lord” by Neil L. Anderson is on there twice and “I Have a Work for Thee” by John C. Pingree Jr. is missing. Just FYI 🙂 I’m excited to use the outline between now and next conference though! Thanks again.

    1. Hi Celes! Thank you so much for catching that. I will try to fix the error and re-post the updated version. 🙂 I’m so happy to hear that you are excited to use the printable. Hope it helps.
